What are Salesforce’s new Integration User Licenses? 

For those Salesforce users who are working with integrations with your Salesforce platform, Salesforce recently released a new type of license to assign to these users: Salesforce Integration User License. 

Each user needs a Salesforce license, and those licenses that are assigned to each user determine the level of access they have to the platform. The access assigned to each user is typically inline with the roles and responsibilities of the user; however, before this integration user license was created, some of the other, more expensive licenses had to be used by these users who only needed a lower level access. 

The integration user license is specifically designed for a user who does system-to-system integrations – only providing the user with API access and no access to other functionality or data.

Since five of these Integration User Licenses are now being offered per organization at no cost, that allows other existing licenses to be freed up for users in your organization that actually need them to do their job and reduces immediate costs of a license fee.
