Salesforce is updating its Nonprofit Cloud: What does this mean?

Team collaboration around table

Back in March, Salesforce announced changes to Nonprofit Cloud. This exciting announcement shows Salesforce’s commitment to providing best-in-class nonprofit technology and continued commitment to the sector.

Learn about what changes are included in the new Nonprofit Cloud, what excites us about these changes, and what is on the horizon.

The new Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud

The new Nonprofit Cloud is a reimagined solution for nonprofit organizations. It takes advantage of the state of the art solutions built in other industry clouds allowing nonprofit organizations to drive towards their vision. The vision of Nonprofit Cloud is to enable organizations to deliver their programs, manage cases, grow fundraising with data intelligence, expand their community, and leverage all of that data to grow their impact.

Rather than layering nonprofit applications on top of the platform, Nonprofit Cloud leverages the innovations from other industry clouds and the core platform. Nonprofit Cloud brings the best in class features and functionality of Salesforce to mission driven organizations, allowing them to not only work more efficiently and effectively, but smarter.

What about Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)?

NPSP is still available and considered part of Salesforce for Nonprofits. Salesforce for Nonprofits is more than NPSP. It includes other solutions built on top of the platform for nonprofits, like Program Management Module, Nonprofit Case Management, and Grants Management. It is a proven solution for nonprofits to manage fundraising operations, inbound grants, outbound grant making, programs, and more. There are thousands of organizations leveraging Salesforce for Nonprofits and we at Redpath have invested years into enabling mission driven organizations on this solution. Redpath and Salesforce will continue to provide support to these organizations.

Salesforce for Nonprofits has built up over 14 software packages for the nonprofit community over the years and has been anchored by the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), which Redpath and Salesforce have used with many organizations. Salesforce will maintain support for these existing offerings like NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud Case Management, The Program Management module and more, but will also offer a new solution with reimagined program management, outcomes, marketing engagement, and fundraising in a single solution.

What excites us about these changes:

With the new Program and Case Management solution rolled into Nonprofit Cloud, which is available now, you and your organization will be able to:

  • Make data-driven decisions faster to help you focus on what is working and where change is needed
  • Get staff up to speed to work with your constituents fast with Care Plans and Actionable Lists
  • Create cross-sector engagement for everyone you serve by Nonprofit Cloud including programs and case management and adopt technology used in other industries like Health & Life Sciences and the Public sector
  • Get simpler ways to measure outcomes without as much work with heavy customization, and in a more standardized way
  • Get 10 free technology licenses with the Power of Us program, which is included in the new Nonprofit Cloud innovation

Salesforce will continue adding more capabilities for Fundraising and Outcomes in Nonprofit Cloud as the year goes on to help provide more personalized experiences to help fundraisers and marketers most effectively build relationships. We will continue to post information about these changes as Salesforce releases them.
