The Client
NPower is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities in the technology sector for those who have traditionally faced barriers to entry. NPower provides free, comprehensive tech training programs for young adults and military-connected individuals from low-to-moderate income communities.
The Challenge
In NPower's certification process, students take exams and then show their results to instructors, who manually record them in a spreadsheet. Later, those results were copied again into a shared master file, and eventually, uploaded into Salesforce by the admin team.
This workflow created more than just busywork. It introduced lags, confusion, and data reliability issues. There was no quick way for staff to know which results had been uploaded, which were missing, or how to communicate updates across teaching sites. As NPower expanded its programming, this process only got harder to manage.
Staff needed a way to improve how results were captured, reviewed, and recorded without burdening instructors or introducing more complexity into Salesforce.
The Solution
With Redpath's help during our Annual Pro Bono Event, NPower built a secure Experience Cloud site where students can submit their test results directly. No more spreadsheets. No more copy/paste. And no more waiting on multiple handoffs before data makes it into Salesforce.
- Student-led submissions and fewer instructor tasks Students now log their results through a guided screen flow, uploading screenshots as proof. This frees instructors from tracking scores or entering data—and gives students ownership over their certification progress.
- Instant Salesforce record creation Submissions automatically generate records linked to each student in Salesforce. Key fields track which results have been reviewed, making it easy to follow up or validate information.
- Real-time reporting for reviews Staff can now pull dynamic reports showing which submissions are pending review. Once a result is verified, it's marked as reviewed and automatically drops off the list, eliminating guesswork and improving accountability.

While full results are still coming in, NPower has already seen a dramatic drop in manual work for both instructors and admins. What once took days, and multiple spreadsheets, now happens in minutes through a single, streamlined process.
