Making the most of Dreamforce 2019: 4 tips for nonprofits

One of our favorite events of the year, Dreamforce 2019, is taking place in San Francisco, Nov. 19-22. Dreamforce is the ultimate gathering for all Salesforce communities, especially Salesforce.org. More than 5,500 Salesforce community participants will be in attendance enjoying the 300-plus sessions dedicated to making Salesforce a better, stronger tool for Salesforce.org community. This is where you can “get your learn on” in a place like no other.

Question is: Will you be there?

We hope so, and if you are feeling a little overwhelmed with everything there is to see and do at Dreamforce, we want to help with that as well. To that end, here’s our list of things you can do to make your upcoming trip to Dreamforce as successful as possible.

Tip #1: Start with the right resources

Your trip to Dreamforce will be more effective if you arrive with a plan in place. Build your schedule with Agenda Builder before you arrive and bookmark your favorite sessions and keynotes. You can find these events by visiting Trail Maps for Nonprofit and Education. Here you’ll find several custom agendas — built by Salesforce experts — providing you tips on the best keynotes, sessions and experiences to attend based on your product interest, role and/or industry.

You should also download the Salesforce Events App. This makes personalizing and updating your schedule a breeze. Lastly, don’t forget to get ready for Dreamforce with Trailhead. You’ll earn a shiny new badge while preparing to make your trip as effective as possible.

Tip #2: Head to the Salesforce.org Lodge

One of the most exciting aspects of Dreamforce is the networking, and if you’re looking to connect with other like-minded nonprofit professionals in your role or industry, there’s no better place to do this than the Salesforce.org Lodge. Located in the Westin St. Francis, the Salesforce.org Lodge is an oasis from all of the other convention activities. Visiting the lodge allows you to connect with peers, partners and helpful Salesforce staff, helping you learn more about Salesforce solutions from the people who create them. Whether you’re seeking advice on how to better manage your end-to-end goals or expedite your latest technology transformation, the Salesforce.org Lodge is the place to advance your nonprofit’s goals.

Tip #3: Take a seat at a roundtable

Rountables are your chance to discuss your nonprofit’s biggest opportunities in an unscripted, interactive session with other Salesforce users and experts in the nonprofit and education areas. Bring your stories, questions & challenges on topics such as leveraging Nonprofit Success Pack, program management, outcome tracking and volunteer management.

Redpath will be hosting two nonprofit roundtables at the following times:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 9:20 am
  • Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2:00 pm

Just remember that all roundtable events have limited capacity and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, so highlight the ones that most interest you and be there early.

Tip #4: Meet up with Redpath

This last one is something we personally hope each of you will pursue, because we’d love to meet you. Whether it’s a Salesforce question, an upcoming project or you simply want to network, we’d love to sit down and discuss the role Salesforce has at your nonprofit and see if we can support your organization in any way.

Contact us today and let’s set a time to meet.
