Cloudy at #DF16: NPSP Roadmap

salesforce.orgFor nonprofits using Salesforce and the NPSP it has been an exciting year! There has been an undeniable surge of energy from the Salesforce.org Foundation, manifested in the many new tools, resources, and functionality for nonprofits using Salesforce. Cloudy joined an excited crowd of nonprofit users at Dreamforce 2016 for a recap of everything that has happened in the past year, and a (safe-harbor!) sneak peek of what is coming in 2017.

NPSP Getting Started

With all these updates, and with hundreds of thousands of users in 80 countries using the NPSP, the new name came as no surprise: Formerly knows as the Nonprofit ‘Starter’ Pack, the package is now officially known as the Nonprofit Success Pack. In years past, it may have been accurate to think of the NPSP as a mere starting place, but it is now a robust solution for nonprofit management, with an active Salesforce.org developer team committed to the success of the platform and its nonprofit users.

NPSP 2017 RoadmapMary Pustejovsky, Product Manager at Salesforce.org, shared some of what the developer team is working on for 2017 at the Salesforce.org Product Roadmap session at Dreamforce:

  • Helping nonprofits measure against goals
  • Integration with online giving
  • More sophisticated campaign management
  • Automated Soft Credits for relationships and affiliations
  • Enhanced Payment Rollups
  • Better batch upload tools
  • Campaign List Builder
  • MORE Trailheads, “Getting Started” resources and supports for new users

Updates to the NPSP are released every 2 weeks, and if you are on NPSP 3.0, the updates roll into your system automatically. To stay abreast of new enhancements, you should join the NPSP Release Announcements group on the Power of Us HUB.
